Discussion of nest steps
Minutes by Daniel Jeans Dear all, Here are some minutes for our meeting on 03/09/2009. Please let me know if there are errors or omissions... Regards, Daniel. slides at: http://ilcagenda.linearcollider.org/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=4154 Marc: * 1 full-size alveolar layer built * assembly mould being designed, ready end october * tool for core removal being developed * change to "U" structure possible (cost of 2 months + 3keuro) "H" structure is still baseline * curing of large assembled structure still needs study Denis: * recent results on demonstrator studies will be uploaded by Julien tomorrow * studies of convection * studies of thermal foams & gels * heat pipe system should be available by end september * monoblock cooling system for 90 degree geometry prepared - will need to adapted for 45 degree geometry * discussion of mechanical support for "H"s in structure (for 90 degree case). 2 poss: support H structure at edge or the PCBs at the centre. - need to consider 45 degree case !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! n.b. for shape of instrumented region of EUDET, the baseline is for a 45 degree tower some distance inside the structure (~15-20cm from edge). One long slab is also forseen (probably not completely instrumented, but with a few functional ASUs at each end and in the centre). !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Patrick: * work on equipment for soldering 18cm boards * new kapton cables received for tests Maurice: * working on controller for heater lamp * PCBs have arrived, they are being equipped * firmware development will take ~2 weeks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Patrick and Maurice should keep in close contact to prevent overlaps/inconsistencies. Perhaps Maurice can come to Paris for a few days in the next month or so. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remi: * FEV7 COB (chip on board) PCB prototype has arrived. - will test bonding of chip - next version being prepared by Stephane (with extra Cu layer on top) * DIF firmware has been developed by stagaires over the summer - allows some slow control commands etc - is being cleaned up by Remi - will allow first tests of FEV7+SPIROC2 when available * HV kapton gluing tests started with Patrick. Roman: * presented prelim agenda for Lyon meeting * think about possibilities for trans-national access. This is an essential part of the EUDET project: our "infrastructure" must be utilised by international EU partners. Perhaps it could be used for cooling tests together with CERN?
There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
