Monalisa vacuum test results in Oxford university, David Urner, Paul Coe (University of Oxford)

file : ppt, pdf (pdf, 14pages, 608KB) and report (PDF)

David reported recent results of vacuum test as promised at previous meeting. Measurements consist of lateral spring constant, longitudinal forces in free and attached to frame. Wooden frame has been made to mimic a system of Shintake monitor and QD0. All the results are satisfactory. Therefore, the schedule of shipment will not be changed.

C : We are pleased to see the results, and appreciate efforts at Oxford university.
Q : Are the results same without support rods in the double bellow system ?
A : The rods do not effect them .
Q : How much can QD0 move ?
A : The double bellow system allows the movement within ±5mm .
Q : When will QD0 be aligned ?
A : It will be done at the same time of Monalisa's test.
Q : How much is the weight on QD0 ?
A : It is 40 to 50Kg on QD0.
Q : How to install the Monalisa system ?
A : Concrete ceilling will be removed to use the crane for lifting .
Q : The wooden frame will not be sent back.
A : It is OK. We will make it if necessary at Oxford .
Q : Also, we would like to ask you for complete list (invoice) as soon as possible.
A : Yes, we will.
Q : Is any compressed air available near the IP?
A : There is a valve near the area. The pressure is 0.5MPa, i.e. 5atm.
There was a short discussion on the price for tax at custom, where 5% of the price is paid.

Schedule during summer shutdown is made.

There was a suggest to study the background which has been observed during the beam studies such as dependence of QD0 current, horizontal beam size, offset of beam orbit near the last bending magnet etc. .
